Stop Resizing, Start Syncing: Connect Instagram to Pinterest for Seamless Auto-Publishing

Big news for creators and brands! Pinterest recently updated the Pinterest-to-Instagram claiming and auto-publishing feature. Myself and so many others spent time creating the same creative for both Instagram and Pinterest and they just made it easer. I don’t know about you but some times it can be a lot of work to post to both IG and Pin, now you can connect the two and I will share how to do that so you can grow on two platforms.

Work Smarter, Not Harder

As a content creator or brand, your time is your most valuable asset. You’re already doing the heavy lifting—filming recipe reels, styling OOTDs, and curating home decor carousels. Why let that effort stop at one platform?

Pinterest is making it easier than ever to bring your Instagram content over to Pinterest. By connecting your accounts, you can reach our 518 million+ monthly active users with just a few taps.

Why You’ll Love This Feature

  • True Auto-Publishing: Once you opt-in, every new Instagram post is automatically turned into a Pin. No more manual double-posting.

  • The 90-Day Jumpstart: When you claim your account, you can choose to import your Instagram posts from the last 90 days, giving your Pinterest profile an instant library of content.

  • Full Attribution: Every Pin created via this feature links back to your Instagram, ensuring you get the credit. Your Instagram profile will even be highlighted on your Pinterest page, helping you grow your audience across both platforms.

  • Deep Analytics: Track how Pinterest users engage with your Instagram content directly in your Pinterest Analytics dashboard.

Pro Tip: For carousel posts, Pinterest will automatically upload each image and video as an individual Pin, maximizing your visibility!

How to Link Your Accounts

Ready to sync? Follow these simple steps to claim your account and turn on auto-publish:

  1. Log into Pinterest and go to your Profile.

  2. Tap the Settings (three-dot icon).

  3. Select Claimed Accounts and choose Instagram.

  4. Tap Claim and log into your Instagram in the pop-up.

  5. Toggle Permissions to "On" and select Allow.

  6. Choose your destination: Select a specific board or let them save directly to your profile.

  7. Review the 90-day import checkbox and hit Allow to finish!

Note: It may take up to 72 hours for your posts to fully sync. If you use unlicensed music in your Instagram videos, the audio will be muted on Pinterest to remain compliant.

Get Growing

Once your content is syncing, don't forget to optimize. While the automation does the heavy lifting, adding keyword-rich titles and organizing your Pins into thematic boards will help the Pinterest algorithm put your work in front of the right people.

Would you like me to help you draft some keyword-rich titles and descriptions for your first batch of imported Pins? If so drop pins in the comments and I will send you a Pinterest Keyword guide.
